Fear of Fours is the correct answer. When introducing someone to trip-hop, that album is absolutely essential listening.

My favourite has to be What Sound. I can never get tired of listening to that album. It's been in the CD player of my car constantly for about a year now.
And the sun burns my skin
But its outside and in, its burning
Only you can soothe me
Come cool me down

An impossible choice, my friends, really..... I've always felt that Lamb never made a bad song, quite an achievement over 4 albums, but if pushed I would probably choose What Sound. Or Fear of Fours. Maybe Lamb. Oh hell, just give me them all smile.gif

Fear of Fours for me, followed closely my Lamb, but I LOVE them all. Andy one time asked me that question after a gig.

First album for me.

I remember it coming out and how hard it was to find in the Virgin Megastore. After the buzz round the first couple of singles it seemed astonishing that an album had came out and no-one made the effort to promote it properly. Sign of things to come I guess.

Fear of Fours. Such an amazingly clever and well constructed album. Every track is a winner. Five is an absolute technical masterpiece, Softly gives me goos bumps every time, Ear Parcel is my favourite all-time live track to dance to, Bonfire just rocks. I love it, and despite listening to it constantly for about a year after it came out, I still sounds fresh today. Awesome work!

Fear of fours.

It's the album that made me angry about a "rock critic" and write to him!!!
I remember I was able to listen "softly" around 10 or 20 times in a raw ! I feel better now but always love it

will always be the debut for me. a close call of corse, but the debut will always win, against any other cd of any band. itīs especially the lightness and yet rawness of the first album, that makes it stand out from the other ones. and, of corse, thereīs gorecki...

on the other hand, my lambnutterness reached itīs peak with the what sound.

yet, debut it is.

Having just listened to the new album over and over God only knows how many times since I first got my grubby mitts on my copy a few days ago, it's a close-run thing between that and the debut for me, which just goes to show that the decision to avoid the big record companies was absolutely the right one.
I can only conclude that I'm paying off karma at a vastly accelerated rate.

I like all the albums (obviously) but Fear Of Fours has to be my favourite because it cemented my belief that Lamb were a band worth of my attention.

Sure, the first album had all the right signs but so many bands falter during their second effort or fail completely to make one that I waited until FOF came out before I committed myself to them.

Ok..so before listening to 5, I wouldn't have hesitated to say Fear of Fours was my absolute favourite. However, now, having listened to 5 for almost 2 complete straight days (I'm sure my neighbours are thrilled *lol*) 5 is way, way up there. :D
