Most forums have a thread for newbies to post in and talk a little about themself before moving onto the rest of the board with all the big, scary posters who have more than 1,000 posts and so forth, so I thought I'd make one.
I came across Lamb through pandora radio, and absolutely love fear of fours. Never before have I found an album that I like listening to for pleasure, and yet has so much musical ingenuity that it can be listened to for studying as well.
I do enjoy challenging my more musical friends to work out the time signature of "five". (I reckon it's 10+11/16 but I'm still not sure wink.gif

Yay an intro thread smile.gif

Found out about Lamb in 2001 and never looked back smile.gif

I'm a girl from Portugal... ummm... what else. I'm a computer tech and am studying sound.

Fave Lamb album or tune hard to say, depends on my moods! Oddly enough Fear of Fours is my least favourite album - not because of the songs (I only dislike "Alien"), but because I think it doesn't "glue up" as an album should, can't listen to it from beginning to end, I dunno... great songs but maybe not in a good order?

Found out about lamb through surfing through the internet. The song Gabriel got me hooked onto it, never knew the artist name though so I kept trying to find the same page tongue.gif

Finally found the song + artists in around 2008. smile.gif Hooked onto Gabriel and Gorecki

I found out about lamb while watching the "They Keep Killing Suzie" episode of Torchwood. Gorecki is played over the end and I loved the song and bought Lamb then everything else by Lamb I could find. I'm a student studying Chemistry at Nottingham Trent.

I thought Series One of Torchwood was bloody awful (and I'm a die-hard Dr Who fan!) but that ep was a stunner and I cheered when I heard the song at the end... smile.gif

It did take a while for it to find its feet but it still had some good episodes such as Countrycide which i thought waas really really good.

yep, great ep - albeit TERRIFYING!!!!! I had a mate round the other day who was thinking of getting Torchwood for her Doctor Who starved 6 year old son. I told it was probably not such a good idea... wink.gif

If I saw countrycide as a 6 year old I would die. Has she tried the Sarah Jane Adventures?

I have been a massive Lamb fan for ten years. I was introduced to them when I saw a picture of them in a music mag and the review said Lou sounded a little like Bjork. Being a huge Bjork fan I borrowed the first album from the local library on cassette, (this is such a boring story!!) copied it and was hooked! I think she sounds nothing like Bjork but has a beautiful unique voice of her own.

Since then I have seen them eight times and I have bought everything Lamb related I can lay my hands on. I remember being very excited when I found the Softly cds on ebay - the ones which were withdrawn before release. I have no idea if these are actually rare items anymore, maybe every household has a copy!

I'm so thrilled and overjoyed that Lamb have reformed. I hope it's for good this time!

Was it defiitely the UK releases you got Vickie (i.e. CD1 and CD2), not the European one? They are VERY rare indeed!! How much did you pay for them..? smile.gif

Who here was on the old lamb messageboards from 6 years ago?
I can only conclude that I'm paying off karma at a vastly accelerated rate.

I just about had a coronary thinking I'd been done and rushed downstairs to check my collection but I'm relieved to say I have both the UK versions of cd1 and cd2 (cat nos cd7 and dd7), the european release and the promo cds! It was ages ago that I bought them on ebay and think I paid around £8 for the pair. The first Lamb LP on vinyl was another nice find too although not so rare I guess? What would you say is the rarest Lamb item?

Maybe it would be nice to start a 'post your Lamb collection' thread?

Hello everyone! I found Lamb back in early 2005, the first song that I came across was "Gabriel", at the time I remember feeling literally stunned at how powerful and beautiful that song is.

Listening to Gorecki as I write this. Good to be here. smile.gif

Ooooh, yes! I am overjoyed that we may now again have the chance to experience lamb.
Last chance I had was the concert in Aarhus Denmark, but I blew it (forgot)...
I was turned to the music by a friend, who was very upset with me that I never mentioned that lamb was playing before it was too late, but I have since found that a lot of people know and love the music.

I remember coming to the old messageboard a few weeks after lamb split and found that it would never work for me - hopefully this one will be better...
never named

It's pretty rare these days. I've seen copies of it go for over £50 on Ebay...

Now.. that would be telling!! Are we talking stuff that was available in the shops or rarer promo stuff that wasn't meant for public consumption..? wink.gif

Hi, I've just discovered that Lamb are coming back because I read on a board that they will be here in Italy for a concert. So I decided to sign me up here.
I don't remember exactly how I began listening to them, but it was somewhere in 2002, I managed to see them live in London in 2004 (my first concert ever) and I really look forward to their come back.

I'm an American who's lived in Germany more than half my life, and I think I first heard Lamb sometime around 2000-2001.

I saw Lou solo at Knust in Hamburg last spring, and she sounded and looked as lovely as ever. She had a trick for making herself into a one-woman orchestra by singing and/or playing a line that was immediately played back as a loop, then maybe layering in a few more voices over which she eventually sang the melody. She did a stunning rendition of "Gabriel" this way.

It was unexpected thrill to see that Lamb has returned. Someone please ask Andy & Lou to try to get to Hamburg and/or Berlin on their new tour, they have many fans here and I'll personally promise them that they'll fill the place up (I'll tell all my friends and neighbors to go).

Me too.

My introduction to Lamb was kinda before they existed, from the music scene in Manchester from about 1987/88 onwards (I guess that ages me laugh.gif). Was lucky enough to see their first ever gig... and a fair few more after that! Gutted that I won't be able to get to any of the gigs announced so far this summer, but 'tis wonderful news for those who can!
